The StoryTree™ Method: A New Framework for Legacy.

Because your life isn’t a timeline. It’s a message.

Traditional photo organizing focuses on the “when”; the dates, the years, and the metadata. But legacy is a form of communication. It is a lasting message for our future selves and the generations that follow.

The StoryTree™ Method is a proprietary, tactile system designed to move you beyond chronological chaos. Developed by Dawn Puzzio, M.A., CCC-SLP, this meaning-based framework allows curators, legacy builders, and storytellers to identify the Roots, Canopy, and Seeds of their narrative.

The Roadmap

Inside the StoryTree™ System

From Photo Chaos to a Curated Message.

This is an invitation for you to start your family’s most important conversation.

The StoryTree™ Method is designed for those who believe that a photo is more than a pixel. It’s a message.

  • The Legacy Builder: Seeking to bridge the gap between their history and the generations that follow.

  • The Family Storyteller: Ready to move beyond chronological dates to find the “why” behind the moments.

  • The Intentional Curator: Looking for a tactile, science-backed framework to independently navigate photo chaos.

The StoryTree™ Method utilizes a proprietary 3-stage framework to identify the narrative value of your collection, categorizing it into our 6 distinct pillars to ensure your message is clear for the next generation:

Phase 1: Identify: Using the sorting cards, we bypass chronological overwhelm to find the meaning.

Phase 2: Categorize: Assigning each photo into a pillar of the StoryTree™.

Phase 3: Communicate: Stories behind the photos are translated into a lasting message

The StoryTree™ Method is more than a framework. It is a tactile experience. Currently in development, the StoryTree™ Kit provides the tools to facilitate your curation process.

What the Kit Includes:

  • The StoryTree™ Sorting Cards: A curated 6-card tactile system that acts as your narrative compass. Each card represents a pillar of the StoryTree™ Method: Canopy, Seeds, Forest, Roots, Fallen Leaves, and Greenhouse. These include comprehensive descriptions serving as prompts to identify the communication value in every photo.

  • The StoryTree™ Framework Guide: More than a manual, this is the definitive blueprint for the StoryTree™ Method. The Framework Guide provides the "why" behind the science of narrative curation, offering a step-by-step methodology to move from photo chaos to a structured communication plan. It serves as your strategic anchor, ensuring that every curation decision you make is rooted in meaning rather than just chronology.

  • The StoryTree™ Journal: The dedicated space where your legacy takes shape. The StoryTree™ Journal is a guided narrative companion designed to capture the stories held within your photos. With structured prompts aligned to the 6 pillars—Roots, Canopy, Seeds, and more—this journal transforms individual images into a cohesive, lasting message for your future self and the generations that follow.

Our Beta testers have discovered that by using the StoryTree™ Sorting cards, the ‘paralysis of choice’ disappears, allowing the stories held within their photos to finally surface.

“I focused less on when the photos were taken and more on where the photos fit in my life and what was happening at that time. I learned how to sort photos according to the Six Branches of My Story and used them when journaling about certain photos. I learned eventually to focus on the photos that meant the most to me over the course of my life and to discard others. This process was liberating and I do not feel burdened by my photos anymore.”
